Gay Agenda Release Party TONIGHT!

Top of the Morning!

We've got the long awaited return of GAY AGENDA being released tonight at IBW LODGE #1!

It's been 3 years since we made GAY AGENDA last (COVID lockdown blew it up in 2020, production issues with a contractor blew it up last year) and it's tasting better than ever. We couldn't be more excited to share it with you.

Made with about 2lbs/bbl of peach puree and dry hopped with Idaho 7 & Citra, this 7.5% Double Dry Hopped Double IPA is a fantastic way to quench your thirst, soften the edges of your mind, and get over your hang ups (however interesting you think they might be!).

Pride Month and Gay Pride and LGBTQ rights (and all of the contiguous and adjacent rights to those) contain in them so much: Human Dignity. Civil Rights. The Right to privacy. The Right to publicity. The right to be. The Right to be in public. The Right to not be in public and be in the privacy of wherever you are however you are. The ability to feel safe as one's self. The ability to feel and express one's self as one's self. The celebration of human sexuality. The celebration of human connection. The exploration of human connection through sexuality. The question of what it means to be a self. The question of what it means to be sexual or not sexual. The discovery of the strength it takes to actually be your self and to ask questions about your self. And ask questions about societies expectation of self. It's about the ability to look at how, historically, civilizations looked at self and identity and sexuality and question what they got right and wrong. The ability to question what we have gotten right and gotten wrong and how we can be better. And how we can continue to be even better than that.

It's amazing how much LGBTQ Rights have changed and evolved since I was born in 1974. It's bonkers how much they have evolved since we first released GAY AGENDA in 2017! And it's super important to understand that these rights didn't just bubble up out of the blue, but were made real, made manifest and were brought into the world by the tireless work and strength and sacrifice of so many smart, brave, brazen, beautiful people. And there's still so much more work to do.

So, tonight, let's Play and celebrate Life. And then, tomorrow, get back to the Work.

And, here to help us Play tonight, left fielder and America's Favorite American, Jeff Fox, along with Benny the laser shooting dog will help bring the GAY AGENDA label back to life once again. Also, it's my understanding Troy will be doing some music curation for your asses to get dancing. And, I'm gonna buy a cake somewhere.

If you've got something you think will add to the celebration, please bring it!

The GAY AGENDA Release Party will start, probably a bit limpingly, around 7 and will hit it's stride around 8p-8:30p after everybody has some drinks and loosens up a bit. We'll ride that wave just as far as we can from there. Possibly past midnight?

Who knows if this will be as epic and historic as our 2018 GAY AGENDA Release Party we had at Beer Temple? Could be. The only person that can make sure that it's even better than that is YOU. So do it!

We've got a Vinyl and Craft market at IBW Sunday June 12th if you want to buy some records and such for the Dad in your life. There's four different records stores, everybody's favorite Bunny Rafanello (who made those amazing Krampus planters for the holiday market (and the baby and dog at the tap room!)) and HibachiAcidTrip who will punch up your puzzles a bit for you. Should be fun!

If you're looking for something fun and delicious to do on Father's Day, why not come by Illuminated Brew Works for a pig roast?

We're teaming up with our friends at WineStyles to make sure this is the best Father's Day that Father in your life can have. In service of that, Chef Rodney Staton (Haywood Tavern, 50/50 Group) is going to be slow cooking a Slagel Farms hog for your Father's Day festivities.

$25 gets you plenty of pig, 2 sides and either 2 beers or 2 glasses of wine. $15 gets your kids set up with the food but not the booze. Instead they'll get some soda.

We'll be cooking the pig all day in the parking lot. The event is from 2pm - 6pm and we'll serve the pig around 3pm. It should be a blast. Here's the EventBrite link for the event. You can use this or you can call WineStyles to make a reservation at (847) 518-9463.
